Police Benevolent Association Endorses Mike Horner
Both the Central Florida and statewide chapters of the Police Benevolent Association have announced their endorsement of Mike Horner for the Florida House District 79 seat.
PBA Executive Director David Murrell was quoted saying, "Mike will bring a no-nonsense tough on crime approach to state government."
Mike Horner is well-qualified to take over the District 79 seat from Frank Attkisson, who is leaving due to term limits. In addition to receiving Attkisson's personal blessing to run for the seat, Mike currently serves as the President of the Kissimmee/Osceola Chamber of Commerce. Attkisson Endorses Horner

NEXT GENERATION FLORIDA ANNOUNCES OFFICIAL FORMATION
ORLANDO, Fla. – A group of Central Florida young professionals has formed a new committee called Next Generation Florida to provide financial and networking support to up-and-coming local Republican candidates for State Senate and House races. After a successful multi-candidate fundraiser last November, Next Generation Florida officially organized as a committee of continuous existence, a type of political committee authorized under the Florida Statutes to issue endorsements and provide financial support to specific candidates.
The Florida Division of Elections approved Next Generation Florida’s application as a committee of continuous existence in January, and the following Board members were elected:
President, Sarah E. Rumpf, attorney, Stovash, Case & Tingley, P.A.
Executive Vice President, Christopher Carmody, attorney, GrayRobinson, P.A.
Financial Vice President, Wade C. Vose, attorney, Vose Law Firm, LLC
Political Relations Vice President, Christina Dixon, civil engineer, Dyer, Riddle, Mills and Precourt, Inc.
Membership Vice President, Michael Patterson, software engineer, Riptide Software
Next Generation Florida has been accepting applications from Central Florida registered Republican voters to be Charter Members, and from local companies to be Charter Corporate Members. The Board has chosen the initial list of endorsements (additional candidates may be endorsed by the membership at a later date), and is proud to announce its support for the following Republican candidates:

Next Generation Florida Kickoff Event A Huge Success
NEXT GENERATION FLORIDA KICKOFF EVENT A HUGE SUCCESS
ORLANDO, Fla. – A group of Central Florida young professionals has recently formed a new group called Next Generation Florida to provide financial and networking support to up-and-coming local Republican candidates for State Senate and House races. Next Generation Florida's kickoff event was a fundraiser and happy hour this past Tuesday, November 27th at the UrbanThink! Bookstore in Thornton Park, featuring the following Republican candidates:
Andy Gardiner, running for State Senate, District 9
Chris Dorworth, current State Representative, District 34
Scott Plakon, running for State Representative, District 37
Bryan Nelson, current State Representative, District 38
Eric Eisnaugle, running for State Representative, District 40
Steve Precourt, current State Representative, District 41
Mike Horner, running for State Representative, District 79
The event was a huge success, with a capacity crowd of almost 200 attendees who included local professionals, elected officials, and representatives from area Young Republican and College Republican chapters. The candidates met many new enthusiastic supporters and raised thousands of dollars for their campaigns. Next Generation Florida and the event were also mentioned in the Orlando Sentinel's Political Pulse blog and the Sayfie Review earlier this week.
Founders Sarah Rumpf, Wade Vose, and Chris Carmody are in the process of formally organizing the group as a "Committee of Continuous Existence," a type of political action committee authorized under the Florida Statutes to issue endorsements and provide financial support to specific candidates. Next Generation Florida will plan events and raise funds for its endorsed candidates throughout the 2008 elections and will continue to support local Republican candidates in future election cycles. The names of the group's Charter Members and officially endorsed candidates will be publicly announced in early 2008.
